Leads data-driven strategic insight development focused on Merrill clients at all life cycles. This role is critical in delivering actionable insights to senior executives, enabling informed decision-making, and enhancing our understanding of client engagement, opportunities, and market dynamics. The ideal candidate will have exposure to and an understanding of banking and lending data analytics, and strategic planning, with a strong ability to translate data into business intelligence that drives growth and enables effective measurement and risk management.
Determines and sets priorities to align with the overall business objectives; ensures appropriate focus and alignment of resources. Communicates complex analyses using a variety of tools, techniques, and resources to deliver insights that drive business direction and decision making. Partners with P&L owners and senior executives to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to a variety of business problems using data driven insights. Integrates the analysis and strategic priorities with other analytic areas and business partners to ensure alignment across the organization. Experience in supervising technical or complex projects and managing to an outcome. Proven track record in financial services, consumer products, or marketing business / analytics. Knowledge of current data techniques, and tools. Ability to effectively communicate at senior levels. Demonstrated understanding of statistical data uses in business decisions.
Leads team of individual contributors who are responsible for routine reporting and ongoing dashboard updates. Reporting for banking and lending metrics as well as broader Merrill and enterprise teams and data.
Key Responsibilities:
? Understand and leverage available data on Merrill clients to identify trends, opportunities, and risks that inform strategic decisions and improve client relationships.
? Translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership, influencing key business strategies.
? Assess economic, industry, and competitive trends that impact our business clients, providing insights that shape product offerings and risk strategies.
? Leverage technical teams and available tools to deliver advanced analytics that provide strategic insights on client behavior, financial health, and engagement across their relationship.
? Identify opportunities to develop and refine client segmentation models to better serve diverse Merrill clients, optimizing our approach to banking and lending.
? Leads team of reporting associates to deliver dashboards and routine reporting.
Required Qualifications:
? Minimum 10 years in insights, strategy, finance, or analytics roles within wealth management, banking, lending, or financial services.
? Strong experience with data analytics tools (SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI) and working knowledge of statistical analysis techniques.
? Proven ability to synthesize data and market intelligence into actionable business strategies.
? Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership.
? Proven track record of working across teams to drive strategic initiatives and enhance client engagement.
Desired Qualifications:
? Familiarity with AI, predictive analytics, and automation in banking insights.
? Experience managing complex data and strategy projects in a fast-paced environment.
? Knowledge of performance analysis and tools related to client sales relationship management.
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in business finance, economics, data science or equivalent work experience.

Pay and benefits information
Pay range
$175,000.00 – $275,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.
Discretionary incentive eligible
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
