Job Description
Essential Functions:
Employs the ANA Nursing Process (2010) in carrying out the following functions:
Compiles thorough data concerning the health condition or situation of the healthcare consumer.
Reviews the assessment information to ascertain the diagnosis or problems.
Predicts the anticipated results of a customized plan aimed at the specific healthcare user.
Formulates a structured approach that recommends tactics and choices to reach anticipated goals.
Executes the approved course of action. Secures that the patient is moving forward as per the plan.
Coordination of Care focuses on ensuring seamless care delivery.
Health Instruction and Promotion of Health – utilizes approaches to boost wellness and maintain a secure surrounding.
Advanced practice registered nurses and nursing role specialists engage in consultation to influence the identified plan, empower others, and instigate positive changes.
Reviews the headway made in reaching the established goals.

Registered Professional Nurses are expected to practice within the legal framework set by the state and comply with the regulations and standards set by accreditation agencies and certifying organizations, ensuring that their care meets the necessary criteria.
Adheres to the standards outlined in the ANA 2010 Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Skillfully employs relevant technology and software tools:
Assist in documenting the activities conducted by nurses and the care provided to patients.
Access other work-related applications necessary to be an engaged and active associate of the organization, such as company email, iLearn modules, employee engagement surveys, benefits and compensation information, and policies and procedures.
Always on the lookout for ways to elevate the caliber of patient care by creatively resolving issues through innovation.
Any tasks deemed necessary will be assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required:
Education – Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing
Certifications – Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – American Heart Association (AHA) – Within 60 days of hire or transfer; Registered Nurse (RN) – South Dakota Board of Nursing
Regarding BLS certification:
The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable.
Preferred:
Experience – 5+ years of Registered Nurse Experience
Education – Bachelors degree in Nursing
Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work – exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
