Job Description
As an Insurance Eligibility Specialist, you will:
Verify insurance eligibility for scheduled appointments.
Track and maintain insurance referrals to ensure continuity of care.
Answer patient inquiries regarding their account balances.
Process payments on behalf of patients.
Verify benefits and coverage for services.
Resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
Provide pricing to self-pay patients.
Maintain confidentiality by adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in medical billing/collections required.
Must possess knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (also known as EOBs, remittances, etc.) with an understanding of copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and denial codes.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Proficient customer service skills.
The ability to multi-task in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
Working knowledge of MS Office.
