About the position
As a Fire & Theft Claims Adjuster, you will play a crucial role in the Claims team by investigating and resolving claims related to fire and theft damage. This hybrid position involves analyzing coverage and liability, managing repairs, assessing vehicle damage, and overseeing rental management. You will be expected to report to the office approximately four days a month for meetings and training, while also benefiting from ongoing support and coaching from your team.
Responsibilities
Oversee vehicle inspections for fire, theft recovery losses, and vandalism damage, ensuring damage is consistent with the report of loss and verifying timelines.

Complete thorough recorded statements of all potential claiming parties and material parties.

Consult with agents, witnesses, law enforcement, fire department personnel, vehicle service providers, and forensic specialists.

Manage rental and determine whether a vehicle should be declared a total loss.

If repairable, guide the vehicle through the repair process.

If a total loss, gather appropriate title documents, negotiate and settle the total loss, and oversee the salvage process.
Requirements
A minimum of four years of relevant work experience with one year as a claims adjuster, property damage adjuster, or repair work within an automobile repair and/or body shop experience.

OR an Associate’s degree and a minimum of three years relevant work experience with one year as a claims adjuster, property damage adjuster, or repair work within an automobile repair and/or body shop experience.

OR a Bachelor’s degree or higher and a minimum of one year as a claims adjuster, property damage adjuster, or repair work within an automobile repair and/or body shop experience.

Must have successfully completed the Fire and Investigations Course by Claims University (or complete within three months of hiring into position).

This position requires a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
