Position: Licensed Commercial Insurance Agent
Work Location: Hybrid work model requires working from one or more of the five Western New York office locations on a weekly basis; Caledonia, Dansville, Arkport, Avoca, Odessa.
Job Description: As a NY State licensed Property and Casualty professional, the Licensed Commercial Insurance Account Manager is responsible for quoting, soliciting, and selling new and renewal Commercial/Personal Lines accounts while supporting the service needs of current clients. Responsible for building new and maintaining current client relationships that lead to growth of the agencys book of business and preserving the agencys reputation to its clients, represented carriers, and community.
Primary Responsibility and Duties:
Sales and Solicitation
Actively seeks referrals from current client base to generate new business
Assess loss exposure, needs, and possible uninsurable exposures for prospects
Creates insurance proposals; makes sales presentations to prospective and existing clients on new and renewal business
Completes and submits applications and related documentation to appropriate insurance markets
Educates prospects and insureds on new and additional products to meet their needs
Participates in marketing activities of the agency to help solicit new business through social media and local community activities
Assists in building a book of business that is profitable for both the agency and carriers
Communicates with existing clients offering coverage, information and advice to build long- lasting relationships
Accepts and handles any duties/prospects as assigned by agency management
Client Service
Works with clients to educate and ensure limit and coverage adequacy at each opportunity
Verifies accuracy and requests changes to correct errors as appropriate for new and existing clientele
Process policy renewals and works to maintains orderly electronic files and information, following agency standards.
Assists in phone coverage and answering requests from clients related
Assist in reporting claims to carriers and guiding clients through the claims process
Assist with maintaining adequate staffing coverage between offices and on phone
Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and stay current.
Provides information and guidance, as needed, to contribute to the business efforts of the agency.
Job Qualifications:
Have a valid NY Property & Casualty license and relevant experience in Commercial lines responsibilities
Minimum of an Associates Degree preferred
Insurance sales experience preferred, or equivalent education and experience
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to problem solve effectively to provide value that exceeds customer expectations
Highly motivated to succeed while dealing with rejection and stressful situations well
Desire to serve others and maintain a high level of integrity
High level of written and verbal communication of complex issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and to respond appropriately
Ability to understand written and oral communication and to interpret abstract information.
Ability to learn quickly and become a subject matter expert in relevant insurance products
Highly motived to generate new business sales, retain existing business, and close sales
Strong ability to work both independently and collectively on personal goals and agency initiatives and responsibilities
Ability to carry out complex tasks with concrete and abstract variables.
Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality
Ability to drive personal vehicle to office locations, client meetings, educational seminars, sales and marketing events
Working Environment:
Often high-pressured, fast-paced environment with significant telephone and in-person disruption. Large number of multiple steps in complex system performed with accuracy and speed is essential to the successful completion of tasks.
Necessity of continuous education and maintaining of insurance license and accreditation, where appliable

Pay: $40,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year
