As a claims adjuster specialist, youll play a critical role managing attorney represented bodily injury (BI) claims. An ideal candidate will have experience managing an inventory independently, experience assessing and evaluating liability, coverage, and damages, as well as working independently and directly with attorneys to negotiate and settle claims. This is a hybrid role. Youll be expected to report to an office about four days per month for important meetings, training, and collaboration and will have the benefit of continued coaching from a supportive team. If you prefer an in-office environment, youre welcome to work in the office more than four days per month.
Duties & responsibilities
Determines coverage and liability
Negotiate with claimants or their attorneys
Settle claims and set reserves
Estimates cost of treatment or compensation for those injured in accidents
Analyze and interpret medical reports, follow-up with no-fault parties, and manage claims process to ensure efficient resolution
Interview, collect and document information from various people such as claimants, agents/brokers, attorneys, and police
Must-have qualifications
Four years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling OR
One year in claims handling and a bachelors degree OR
Three years of relevant work experience with one year in claims handling and an associate degree
Preferred skills
Auto and/or commercial insurance injury handling experience
Location: This position is open to our claims offices located in North Carolina: Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, and Wilmington – South Carolina: Columbia, Greenville, Myrtle Beach, and North Charleston – Virginia: Newport News, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Roanoke, Leesburg, Stafford, and Alexandria
Compensation
$61,400-$79,400/year
Gainshare bonus up to 16% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
