About the position

Lumen is seeking a highly skilled Account Director Senior to join our established team, focusing on the Intelligence Community (IC) and peripheral markets within the Washington D.C. Metro Area. This role is pivotal in leading sales efforts for complex communication solutions, including IP, data, cloud, managed hosting, voice, and cybersecurity. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new sales opportunities, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining positive relationships to maximize sales for the company. This position requires a strong understanding of the federal sector and the ability to navigate complex sales processes effectively. In this role, the Account Director will introduce Lumen’s products and services to both new and existing customers, developing and maintaining accurate sales forecasts and managing quota funnels. The candidate will be tasked with developing sales in designated target markets by identifying new opportunities through various methods such as cold calling, networking, and customer appointments. Additionally, the Account Director will be responsible for managing relationships with acquired and existing customers to retain revenue and increase overall customer spend through cross-selling and up-selling strategies. The role also involves continuous learning and development of knowledge regarding new technologies and selling points, enhancing expertise in the company’s entire product suite. The Account Director will provide comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business and will be expected to deliver accurate and detailed weekly forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities to meet or exceed sales quota requirements.

Responsibilities
? Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the Intelligence Community and peripheral markets.

? Provide product solutions and ensure customer satisfaction to maximize sales.

? Maintain positive ongoing relationships with customers to enhance sales.

? Introduce company products and services to new and existing customers.

? Develop and maintain accurate sales and revenue forecasts and manage quota funnels.

? Contact prospective customers through cold calling, premise visits, networking, and lead generation.
,
? Develop action plans to cross-sell and up-sell accounts to increase overall customer spend.

? Learn and develop knowledge of new technologies and selling points.
,
? Provide comprehensive account plans and strategies to win new business.
,
? Deliver accurate and detailed weekly forecasts of identified and proposed opportunities.

Requirements
? 7-10 years’ experience working within the Federal sector, with a minimum of 5 years in sales/business development calling on Federal organizations.

? Minimum of 10 years of Business to Business/Government technology sales experience in Large, Global/Enterprise Accounts.

? Knowledge of wireline telecommunications technologies and recurring revenue business models.

? Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing/Sales, or a similar field.

? TS/SCI with Poly security clearance required.
