German language immersion primarily, achieving my ZDaF (Official German Language Proficiency Certificate), then began studying Medicine at the university, but due to unavailable seating for the following semester, was unable to complete.
Full undergraduate curriculum plus pre-Masters program courses completed satisfactorily. Completed RN Bachelors Degree in December of 2012. Passed NCLEX Nursing Licensing exam on my first try 2 months later, & the following month I began my first nursing job.
Completed full science curriculum (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Ecology) plus extensive laboratory training for each class. Also completed a well-rounded basis for knowledge, such as World History, Criminalistics, Religion courses, Advanced English courses, English & German Literature, plus Medical Ethics & other ethics courses.
Ursuline Academy is one of the oldest girls' schools in the New Orleans area. Here I picked up extensive knowledge about Geography, History, American Civics, Biology, Chemistry & Physics. My favorite class was Art class. I was a member of the Newspaper & Poetry clubs, as English Literature was also an important course here. This was where I learned how to speak & write Spanish, from my Spanish & Spanish Literature classes. I was on the Soccer & Volleyball teams.
Work & Experience
I have been raising my son to be healthy and well-educated. Now I am working on him being well-behaved, which seems to be infinitely more difficult than the first two! He is growing beautifully & will be starting school soon. My mother suffered a debilitating event several months ago, & was subsequently in the hospital for over 2 months. Since she was discharged home, I have been her caregiver 24/7 at first, while she convalesced in the comfort & familiarity of her home.
Managed phone lines & patient call bells. Resolving patient & family questions & complaints. Collaborated with Dept. Head to improve EMR & unit functions, resulting in a 27% efficiency increase. Providing exceptional service to patients, family, & visitors, increasing patient satisfaction scores by 39%. Trained new nurses in hospital practices & nursing duties. Charting with multiple EMR systems.
As part of the Work Study Program, my duties were: Compiled statistical information for data entry of weekly applications. Supported additional functions in administrative & reception areas. Managed phone lines & answered customer questions & complaints. Troubleshooting office equipment.
Weekly briefings minutes sent to all members of government agencies involved with these projects in order to ensure 100% effective communication. Updated & finalized quarterly reports sent to FEMA, which secured $6,000,000 in reimbursements for the rebuilding of Jackson Barracks post-Katrina by the year 2008. Consolidated my own data entry spreadsheets & reporting, increasing efficiency & saving the State enough funds to purchase 3 new helicopters. Collaborated with GOHSEP to improve the data entry system, increasing the efficiency of purchasing & reimbursements by 90%.
Analysis of environmental samples using EPA-compliant SOPs. Quality assurance & quality compliance checks & maintaining a clean lab each day, resulting in a 0% accident occurrence.
