About the position
The Payroll Accountant I position at NORDAM involves applying fundamental accounting principles and practices to manage payroll functions in compliance with federal and state regulations. The role requires problem-solving skills to develop solutions for payroll processing and involves auditing payroll data, preparing input forms, and assisting in the implementation of payroll systems. The position is entry-level and provides opportunities for growth within the accounting department.
Responsibilities
Develop solutions to a variety of problems related to payroll processing and recording.

Audit and compile payroll data including hours worked and deductions for computing net pay.

Prepare computer input forms and format files for uploading payroll data into the Payroll System.

Assist in conducting studies and formulating recommendations for payroll operation improvements.

Compile earnings and deduction data for electronic general ledger journal entries.

Analyze Payroll Liability general ledger accounts for stakeholder benefits costs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent.
,
0-3 years of related experience and/or training.
,
Experience with ADP Payroll and SAP is preferred.
,
Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
,
Knowledge of accounting processes such as payroll applications and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
